A Bicester mum and her ‘mummy friends’ enjoyed a cuppa and cake to celebrate breastfeeding and encourage mum-to-mum support.
Mum-of-one Jess Webb hosted the event at Stansfield & Hoole café in the town centre as part of a wider national campaign to share experiences and advice.
Mums and their little ones turned out for the Market Square gathering.
Jess said she wanted to organise The Big Breastfeeding Cafe to “get some of my mummy friends together to talk about feeding and the struggles with it, plus all the joys”.
She added: “It was a lovely event to be part of knowing all around the UK there’s lots of mummies having the same conversion as us and enjoying their time together.
“Stansfield & Hoole is a wonderful café, very baby friendly where you feel happy feeding your baby breast or bottle.
“It was a lovely afternoon and showed the importance of having mummy friends, a great idea to get parents together for tea and cake and just have a good old chat.”
Now in its third year, the campaign, led by breastfeeding brand Medela, was a ‘huge success’ with more than 80 cafes held across the UK offering advice and support for mums.
