Players take a Vegas gamble

Oxford pub poker players laid their cards on the table after winning a trip of a lifetime to the US for the chance
to be crowned UK Pub Poker Champion.

John Hudgell, of the Qzone on Grenoble Road, and Tim Osborn, of the New Club on Blenheim Lane, will fly to the bright lights of Las Vegas on May 24 hoping to win a slice of the £25,000 prize pool.

The two poker stars will represent Oxford in the City of Lights after qualifying from the UK’s largest live pub poker league, VEGAS100, now in its 12th year.

VEGAS100, organised by Redtooth Poker, takes in more than 1,000 venues and has in excess of 200,000 registered players.

Martin Green, managing director of Redtooth Poker, said: “We are delighted to finally secure our 100 players for the trip to Las Vegas.

“These are the best pub poker players in the UK so they fully deserve this once in a lifetime trip to America.”
