Pets’ gift for royal couple

Love is in the air: Marley is among those serenading Harry and Meghan

A menagerie of homeless pets in Burford has given a rather unique royal wedding gift that’s not to be sniffed at.

The Blue Cross Pet Choir banded together to record a rough rendition of Here Comes The Bride as the charity’s gift to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ahead of this weekend’s wedding.

Dozens of homeless pets at Blue Cross Burford, including a beagle pup named Marley and Tootles the kitten, performed on the track.

A chorus of dogs, cats, horses and rabbits in need of new homes barked, meowed, neighed and nibbled their way through the 37-second performance.

Jenna Martyn, Blue Cross Burford centre manager, said: “We know that Meghan Markle is a huge fan of rescue pets and the fantastic support she provides for animals is something we want to celebrate.

“To say congratulations to the royal couple on their wedding day, our homeless pets have given something special, they’ve given a gift of song with this rendition of Here Comes The Bride.

“Each pet seen and heard is desperately looking for their new family and we hope this loving wedding season will help them sing their way into loving new homes.”
