Elderly man has pocket picked

Police want to speak to these two women after an elderly man had cash stolen from his jacket pocket in an Abingdon shop.

An elderly couple were watched in Santander in Bury Street, last Tuesday at about 12.45pm.

The man withdrew money and was watched by two women. They followed him to the Timpson store, also in Bury Street.

It was in the high street retailer where one of the women barged into the man and stole the cash from his jacket pocket.

After that, the two women walked away.

PC Ollie Adams, based at Abingdon Police Station, said the women could have ‘vital’ information about the incident.

He added: “This is a particularly concerning incident where vulnerable victims in our community have been actively targeted and suffered financial loss as a result of this crime.”
