GROUPS and organisations in Adderbury have been busy decorating Christmas trees for an annual festival.
St Mary’s Church will be transformed into a festive wonderland over three days, culminating with a carol concert.
People can drop in to see the festive display on December 8 and 9, from 10am to 4pm, and December 10 from noon until 4pm, followed by a family Victorian Carol Service which starts at 4.30pm.
All of the trees are sponsored by local organisations, businesses and groups and have been decorated in fun, creative and imaginative ways.
Visitors can vote for their favourite tree. The Rev Stephen Fletcher, said: “Our church makes a wonderful setting for a Christmas tree festival. As well as looking at the beautiful trees, visitors can explore the church and enjoy some seasonal refreshments and musical entertainment.
“It’s a great way to start the festive season. This is the fourth year the festival has run and we are incredibly grateful to our sponsors.”
On Saturday, bellringers will mark the start of the festival and will be on hand to talk to people and visitors will get the chance to climb into the tower and see the ringing room.
Donations will go to the restoration fund.
