A Long Hanborough honey producer is enjoying the sweet taste of success after securing a momentous contract with a supermarket to sell its new range of spirits.
The Honey Company will supply rums, gins and vodkas distilled with Oxfordshire-produced honey to 50 Midcounties Co-operative Food stores in the county.
The honey-based alcohol range, co-branded with The Midcounties Co-operative’s Best of Our Counties logo, will feature popular alcoholic drinks with a sweet twist, including British Honey & Salted Caramel Vodka, Cotswold Honey Spiced Rum and Cotswold Honey Gin.
Sales and marketing director Oliver Williams, 25, said: “My family and I set up The British Honey Company in 2014, so to see our products on the shelves of Midcounties Co-operative Food stores in such a short amount of time is a huge achievement for us.
“We met the Best of Our Counties team at a farm shop and deli show three years ago and our partnership started there.
“It’s great to be working with a retailer that really supports suppliers in the area and values locally-made products.”
