Fans of Oxford City Stars will soon be able to buy merchandise when the club sells its stock in the city centre for the first time.

After striking an agreement with sponsors Oxford Bus Company, the high-flying side will have its products on sale at the bus firm’s Gloucester Green lounge and travel shop.

As part of the deal, Oxford Bus Company buses will also broadcast highlights of Stars games on the information screens on its vehicles.

Stars director Greig Box Turnbull said: “This gets the City Stars right into the heart of the city centre and provides exposure to thousands of visitors. Not only will it help generate revenue for the club for us to re-invest into developing the Stars, but it will also help broaden the club’s engagement with a wider audience.

“Our clothing range has strong Oxford branding on it, so hopefully it will appeal to tourists, as well as supporters.”

The former Oxford United director added: “The club is run by volunteers, so this is fantastic progress for us and we are all extremely grateful to the Oxford Bus Company for their generous support and backing.”

Oxford Bus Company managing director Phil Southall said: “We are proud to support and sponsor Oxford City Stars and have been impressed by their ambition and values. I’m sure the partnership will continue to grow.”
